A turning point in outdoor advertising, as NSW's first fully approved outdoor LED screen goes live.

The large scale LED screen is the first approved outdoor LED advertising screen in NSW and is sure to be the first of many such screens across the state.

Located on the corner of O'Riordan and Robey Street's, Mascot, the outdoor advertising LED screen could hardly be better placed from a high traffic, or demographic, point of view. The actual interchange is one of the main entry and exit points to Sydney's Kingsford Smith Airport, and also provides access to Qantas Drive to head to the south and west of Sydney.

Recent RTA estimates have more than seventy thousand vehicles per day, passing the LED screen. With an average of 1.8 passengers per vehicle, that's 126,000 pairs of eyes a day viewing the LED screen.

The Mascot LED's slide rotation takes approximately 40 Second to complete the advertising slide loop. This equates to 8 advertisements showing for 5 seconds each loop.

Traffic light timings at the Robey St intersection can take more than three minutes.

From a technical standpoint LED stands for Light Emitting Diode and is the next generation of large scale outdoor LED screen, giving the sort of quality you may expect from a quality plasma or LCD screen.
